Dr. Stephen Morris

Education Impact Solutions

Dr. Stephen Morris has a doctorate in education with a research emphasis on using technology in education. He has spent the past 25 years teaching at the University of San Francisco (USF) in the department of Business Analytics and Information Systems. He has successfully developed tools to help improve student learning outcomes for programs and universities by using technology-enabled learning management systems.

In Dr. Morris’ role of Faculty Coordinator for the Assessment of Learning at USF, he became intimately acquainted with the Association to Advance the Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) assessment standards. He is well-versed in assessment, a skill that he has honed over the years through the study and creation of rubrics that are used not only to grade assignments, but also to measure course, program-level, and school learning outcomes. He gives rubric workshops to faculty, showing instructors how to move from a simple grading rubric to one that incorporates accreditation standards. The workshops also help faculty operationalize student-learning outcomes and how to standardize assessments across sections and faculty.

Dr. Morris regularly participates in educational conferences to better understand how people learn.  He constantly improved his curriculum and pedagogy to help students to not only learn the course material and concepts, but to also become better at critical thinking and to increase their analytical skills.
